Scheduling & Pre-Construction Compliance

Description

The Project Controls Consultant provides integrated scheduling, analysis, and pre-construction planning support for engineering, construction, and infrastructure projects. This role supports successful project delivery by developing, maintaining, and analyzing project schedules, preparing compliance and pre-construction plans, and ensuring alignment with contractual, regulatory, and project controls standards. The Consultant works closely with project managers, construction teams, and other internal and external stakeholders to support effective planning, risk management, and execution across the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

Scheduling & Project Controls

  • Develop, maintain, and analyze detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 (often required) and/or Microsoft Project
  • Ensure schedules comply with contract documents, specifications, applicable owner or agency requirements, and project controls standards.
  • Establish schedule baselines in accordance with contract requirements and project controls standards
  • Coordinate schedule inputs with construction teams (costs, risk, and change management) as needed
  • Prepare schedule updates, reports, narratives, and dashboards for internal and external stakeholders
  • Identify schedule risks, delays, and constraints, and support development of mitigation strategies
  • Perform critical path analysis, schedule risk assessments, and progress evaluations
  • Prepare Time Impact Analyses (TIAs), Requests for Equitable Adjustment (REAs) support documentation, and other forensic scheduling analyses

 

Pre-Construction Plan Preparation & Compliance

  • Prepare pre-construction and compliance plans, including:
    • Accident Prevention Plans (APP)
    • Quality Control Plans (QCP)
    • Environmental Protection Plans (EPP)
    • Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP)
    • Waste Management Plans (WMP)
  • Ensure plans comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as contract and agency standards
  • Incorporate project-specific scope, risk assessments, site conditions, and construction methodologies into plan development
  • Coordinate plan reviews, revisions, and approvals with project teams, owners, and regulatory agencies
  • Track plan submittals, revisions, approvals, and compliance documentation
  • Support project teams during mobilization and construction with plan implementation and updates

Job Type

Full‑Time, On‑Site (includes occasional travel depending on project location)

Pay

$70k-$100k

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture or a related technical field. Options for Non-Degreed as well.

Licenses/Certifications

Driver’s License (Required)

Primavera P6 Certification, AACE PSP (Planning & Scheduling Professional), PMP or CAPM.
